TANGELENE BOLTON | COMPOSER
Tangelene Bolton is a Filipina-American, award winning film, TV, and media composer based in Los Angeles, CA. A Berklee College of Music Film Scoring graduate and a 2020 Sundance Composer Fellow, Tangelene possesses a distinct music style that is a mashup of neoclassical, electronic, folk, and jazz. She boldly turns traditional and conventional sounds into exciting and new territories.
Having worked for A-list composers such as Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Interstellar), Henry Jackman (X-Men, Captain America), and Bobby Tahouri (Game ofThrones, Iron Man), Tangelene is known for her scores from Netflix’s original series Warrior Nun (Season 2), created and executive produced by Simon Barry, Season 3 of Comedy Central’s Awkwafina is Nora from Queens, created by Awkwafina and Teresa Hsiao, as well as Blumhouse’s thriller film Unseen, directed by Yoko Okumura. She wrote additional musicfor Sundance’s 2024 opening film Freaky Tales, an original drama film directed by Captain Marvel filmmakers Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, scored by Raphael Saadiq and starring Pedro Pascal, Ben Mendelsohn, Angus Cloud, and Jay Ellis. She also composed the music for Disney+’s Let’s Be Tigers and Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Just a Thought, which was an official selection at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. 
Tangelene is currently composing the music for the independent feature film Surrender, starring Andrea Bang (Kim’s Convenience) and Keiko Agena (Gilmore Girls) and directed by Jess Dang.
She has performed and conducted world premieres of her scores at The Wiltern with the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra for The Future is Female: A Concert For Women In Film. Moreover, her scores have been conducted and recorded at studios of the highest professional caliber, including the historic Fox Newman Scoring Stage and Capitol Records.
